Task

First you must research the topic. You will need to complete the Knowledge Hunt to understand how shoes came to be in their present state. When you have completed this task you will be asked to put together a short segment on video that could be included in a News production.

Process

After you have completed the Knowledge Hunt, you will be divided into groups of 6 to prepare a short video segment for the National News. Each group will contain people who will assume the following roles:

  1. Graphic Artist
  2. Advertising managers (x 2 people)
  3. Script Writers/Presenters (x 2 people)
  4. Illustrator

(Click here to discover more about each role)

Together as a team you will be responsible for preparing your team's production. It is important that each person contributes to the whole production. The Script Writers will be relying on the research you have provided through the Knowledge Hunt, and the Advertising Managers will need to find out the "flavour" of the production in order to make people interested in it.

Webquest Roles :

Graphic Artist : Your role is to design the opening and closing credits for the video production. This may be done either on paper or using the computer, or by a combination of both. This will be inserted into the video after the taping has taken place, during the editing process.

Advertising Managers : Your role is to promote your product with a catchy song or jingle. You may also design an advertisement that could be used in a magazine or newspaper.

Script Writers/Presenters : Your role is to collect the Knowledge Hunts from each member of your team, and put the information together into a cohesive script. You will then read this script on the actual video production.

Illustrators : Your role is to provide a drawing of each shoe mentioned. This can be either collected from team members as part of their Knowledge Hunt, or redesigned by yourself.
